Manspot Trimmer Family
Manspot offers two of the most unique trimmers designed with a prime focus to shave your pubic region.
The two variants are named respectively as “MANSPOT Groin Hair Trimmer for Men” and “MANSPOT Manscape Trimmer for Men” (commonly known as MANSPOT Upgraded Trimmer).
From stylistic variances to embedded features, these two are dignified trimmers in their own way.
Although the Groin Hair Trimmer for Men is advertised toward the male consumers, my girlfriend said it works perfectly for her without causing any sort of disturbances.
The Manscape Trimmer for Men looks menacing and feature-heavy than the former. In terms of performance, I’d say it’s too close to call a winner.
However, in this article, I’m going to dissect the more basic, affordable and one of the most efficient trimmers of all – the MANSPOT Groin Hair Trimmer for Men!
Unboxing the Manspot Trimmer
This Manspot trimmer comes in a seemingly premium box of black with the contrastive inscription in white – an echo of the trimmer housing itself.
A poly wraps around the box tightly and you’ll need to remove this seal to be able to unbox and get your hands on the product.
The top portion is covered by a matte-black paper with a circular cut-out around the middle, displaying the power button, much like the Meridian trimmer packaging.
Inside, you’ll see the compact Manspot trimmer housed in black, the text and blades contrasting with white, sitting pretty.
Once the trimmer and the holder are removed, the accessories lay there inside sealed, plastic transparent pouches.
You’ll find four such packs and two user manuals – which I’ve found to be quite helpful and to the point. These should set you off conveniently on your journey with Manspot!
What You’ll Get Inside the Box: Manspot Trimmer, 4 Adjustable Guide Combs sized at 1.5mm, 3mm, 3-6 mm and 9-12 mm, one charging cable, one Illustrated User Guide and one generic User Manual.

Unique Matte & Textured Design
The design of this trimmer might look like something in between the Manscaped Lawn Mower 3.0 and Meridian Original trimmer. It’s a carefully crafted device catering to aesthetic pleasure as well as ensuring relentless grip.
What I Like
- Unique bridge between matte and textured housing portions
- Perfect level of grip
- Aesthetically superior design
What I Don’t Like
- Leaves fingerprints if hands are moist
Pleasant Aesthetics
Most of the housing on the device comprises a matte finish. In the middle, a large patch is textured which hosts the large on/off button that’s hard to miss and the LED battery level indicator.
The on/off button is sizable, tactile and rubbery, thus it’s easy to switch on or off even while holding under full flow of water.
Shape of the trimmer is curvy – slightly narrower toward the middle and wider at both top and bottom.
Textured region mimics the shape of the device itself but in reverse. A subtle bevel runs across the device and adds more values to the aesthetics.
Superior Grip Level
For a trimmer so small, it offers a superior level of grip at any given circumstances. I have gigantic fingers and it has never bothered my operations with the device.
First off, a full palm grasp ensures the maximum amount of grip. This is the way I hold on to it for most parts of my manscaping sessions.
Secondly, I tend to hold the trimmer upside down with my fingertips to trim my bushes down there. I’m satisfied with the level of grip I’m able to get, all thanks to the matte layer on the housing.
Lastly, to trim my armpits or other sensitive spots, I place a thumb on the housing’s chest to operate precisely. Lucky for me, Manspot’s power button is well cleared!
Beware of Fingerprints!
I’ve faced the same issue on the Meridian device due to the housing outer layer finishing. Since it’s matte, there’s bound to be some fingerprints left behind.
It can drive clean-freaks crazy and keep on the run for constant mopping after every operation. Although it’s quite easy to clean up, a microfiber fabric does the trick for me!
Manageable Build Quality
Well, the quality of build for the trimmer is as good as you can hope for at this price point. If I were to pay nearly $100, I definitely wouldn’t be satisfied with what Manspot is offering.
What I Like
- Doesn’t feel cheap
- Blades and motors are made of quality materials
- Doesn’t leak
What I Don’t Like
- Housing isn’t made with the priciest materials
But priced at halfway compared to the other body grooming trimmers in the market, Manspot has done a splendid job considering our wallet.
They didn’t cut down on the features to compensate for the price, nor did they compromise the styling points.
All of it came down to the housing materials and accessories, which I wouldn’t call the best regardless of any context.
I recommend against dropping the trimmer from any given height and support a safe storage to keep it at its best form.
This device is leak-proof, retains the waterproof nature safely and the blade replacements are sustainable – that much durability I can vouch for.
In terms of longevity, if used with care, this can last you for years. Just don’t try to push its limits too much – that should suffice!
7 Necessary Features Included
Not all the trimmers that are capable of body grooming as well as ball trimming aren’t endowed with every bit of latest technology available in the market.
However, this Manspot trimmer has 7 of the most essential features that make it a must-have device for regular use!
What I Like
- Handy due to the lightweight
- Great combo of safe blades and powerful motors
- Waterproofed & wireless allows shower shave
What I Don’t Like
- No travel lock
Conveniently Lightweight
One of the few underrated but important features of such trimmers is their weight. If your device is heavy like Andis or Wahl units, it becomes significantly more difficult to trim private parts conveniently.
Manspot trimmer weighs around 11 ounces, which is to say falls in the ideal weight area. It falls in-between the Manscaped 3.0 and Meridian trimmer in this regard.
Due to such weight, I was able to get closest to my skin without much room for error. And that’s applicable for my wrinkly man jewels as well.
Longer sessions haven’t stressed me out and grip level has been supreme – all thanks to the perfect balance between weight and design guaranteed by Manspot!
Nick-free Anti-cut Ceramic Blades
I literally would’ve thrown this trimmer away had the blades been built with anything but ceramic.
I’ve had my fair share of ball-nicking with steel blades and vowed to steer clear from such unfriendly materials for private parts.
For a budget end trimmer, I found the blades to be quite sturdy. I wouldn’t be surprised to see blades made with cheaper materials, but Manspot has excelled in this regard.
You can find replacements easily as they’re widely available on the market. The rule of thumb is to replace the blades every three months, but mine is yet to tug or pull due to dullness even after 5 months of use.
However, anti-cut doesn’t mean it won’t cut you even if you shove the trimmer down your private parts. It only gives you more confidence to go closer to skin – only if you follow proper methods.
Powerful Motors for Comfortable Trim
The motor is actually good for the price! Even the pricier manscaping trimmers come with motors between 5-7,000 RPM range.
This Manspot trimmer sits in the middle with a 6,000 RPM motor which is very powerful! Even the curliest or densest of bushes don’t stand a chance if the device is charged at 100%!
Another great thing about the combination between this motor and ceramic blades is – it never pulls. I’d still recommend keeping the battery level between two to three LED lights.
At the lower end of charge, the motor won’t be able to deliver up to its full potential. That still works if you’re trimming your body hair and have a guard on.
Convenient Wireless Operation
From shaving your butt to going all over your body parts, especially around the sensitive bits, a wired trimmer is probably the last thing you’d want.
I could never manage to untangle the wire and it kept getting in the way of my hair removal process. Manspot nailed their design with the compact housing, lightweight and wireless system.
It’s possible now to take the trimmer inside the shower or any place of convenience. Otherwise, I’d have to arrange a floor mat to collect all the stray hair but now I can do it right over the drain cover.
Another plus for the wireless design is cleaning up my babymakers. You set the convenient angle and the trimmer will oblige for the lack of a wired connection.
Necessary Accessories Included
The accessories that come with the device are the most basic and straightforward. I mean, if you get these, your pressing needs are bound to be fulfilled immediately.
Three (03) guide combs are provided inside the box that are sized between 1.5 mm to 12 mm. The smallest one comes pre-attached with the trimmer and it’s the one I found the most useful.
The larger guides of 3-6 mm and 9-12 mm are rotatable guards that carry two sizes in one attachment.
Furthermore, you get to have a charging cable (no brick included) and it can utilize your phone’s or any other charging brick. The charging time will vary according to the brick.
Let me tell you beforehand, it doesn’t come with any charging dock. Also, the charging socket is a generic one and not USB Type-C.
I’m ready to concede both of these factors considering the price Manspot has set for the device.
Lastly, there’s also a cleaning brush added to the list of accessories to make cleaning easy.
Sufficiently Waterproof for Wet Shave
For cleaning and wet trims, devices like these need to be up to that level – a solid waterproof design that never leaks or damages the inner units.
Manspot’s trimmer has passed my waterproofing test effortlessly and it’s astounding to see it living up to the challenge for the bargain of a price I had to pay.
I would recommend against keeping the device submerged in deep water or keeping it running under a heavy water shower for prolonged durations.
It’s not because my device gave in to water leakage, rather it’s only a precaution. Because nowhere on the device package or the website mentions anything such as IPX rating.
And without the rating, there’s no need to risk your well-spent money on a handy and affordable device.
3 Level LED Battery Indicator
Knowing your charge level beforehand is a blessing in disguise. Otherwise, there’s always the risk of running out of the shower halfway through cleaning your manhood and spending an annoying waiting time.
The trimmer shows the level of charge in three increments – three (03) LED lights guiding your way.
My preference, although reiterating, is to trim until the second light goes off and only the last one remains lit.
That ensures I’ll get to squeeze out the maximum performance from the trimmer. I’ve trimmed my body hair or armpit jungle with one light on and never felt any disturbance.
However, your experience might not be the same as mine, so better to keep it charged before each use than suffering in silent agony!
My Experience with the Manspot Trimmer
I’ve reviewed the features of the Manspot trimmer with a few highlights of my experience so far. Let’s get more into the details so that you can learn about the device at a greater depth.
What I Like
- Can shave close without guards
- Captures flat lying hair efficiently
- Durable if maintained
What I Don’t Like
- Not ideal for wet shave
- Trimmer guards leave behind stubble
Closeness of Trim: Check!
This is a prime concern for me whenever I’m getting myself a body grooming trimmer. Because going back and forth between automatic trimmer and a manual razor isn’t my cup of tea.
There are two ways of going about a close trim. First and the safer approach is to use the 1.5 mm guard. It’s safer for nuts in my opinion but leaves behind a stubble for other body parts.
But this should still be good enough for a week’s cleanly shaved body parts. You can’t expect it to perform the same way as manual blades, but the closeness is synonymous to the more superior trimming devices.
The other method is to strip the blade off of the guard and go naked. It’s quite risky if your hands aren’t steady or you don’t know how to operate on wrinkly bits of your body.
To be fair, ceramic blades have saved me quite a bit of bloodshed at my precious parts. But the room for error is very little and if I pushed the boundaries, I’d surely lose a few sperm counts.
So it’s safe to say – keep the guards ON while operating at your manhood regions.
Comfortable Trim
How comfortable is the trim with this unit – you may ask. Does it tug, pull or nick? Do you have to apply cold water on the sensitive spots after trimming because it burns?
For me, and to my great relief, none of it has happened with me so far. It not only has to do with the blade’s sharpness, quality, motor power or any other feature, but also with how I handled the task.
This trimmer captures most of the hair, be that standing or lying, with one pass. I do make sure to go over a couple more times but not vigorously.
Going slow is a virtue in this regard and it pays out later. Overall, I’d give the level of comfort almost full marks if the acts are taken slowly.
Shower Shave: Doable – but not Close like Dry Shave
As I’ve already mentioned that the Manspot trimmer has passed my waterproof test, it’s time to see how it actually performs inside the shower.
It’s not ideal to be honest, to take it under running water and scrub on your wet skin surface.
I was sort of terrified when I introduced the blades with my nuts, because all of the hair was lying down tightly and the blades seemed not to be able to capture a whole lot.
This is an issue most manscaping tools face, even the more expensive ones. For body grooming, the Manspot trimmer is passable.
But when it comes to your man jewels, I’d suggest you stick to dry mode for a safer and much neater outcome.
Is the Manspot Trimmer Durable?
It depends on what your definition of durability is. For my part, if the device performs up to the mark repeatedly without giving in and if the blade lasts as long as promised – that I call durable.
In my case, despite the budget end material used for the housing, this is a highly durable device if utilized and maintained with care.
But if you’re wondering whether it can withstand drops from higher up or keep performing without proper care, then this isn’t the trimmer for you.
In short, it can last you years should you follow in my footsteps. This unit is sitting idle to be your next prime body grooming trimmer only if you follow proper maintenance protocols!
Over One Hour of Comfortable Trim
Manspot advertises the trimmer to hold juice for 90 minutes. While it’s true, I feel the optimum performance lasts slightly over an hour.
Once I passed that threshold, it didn’t feel like the motor was running at a 100% pace. So it’s safe to say the cut-off duration is somewhere around an hour and ten minutes.
You’ll still can trim your regular body parts after this duration but dense hair should face slight difficulty and demand a couple extra passes.
If the battery is depleted completely, it takes around 4-6 hours to charge it back up depending on which point you plug it in.
How I Tested the Manspot Trimmer
The testing procedure for this Manspot trimmer consisted of three steps. Through this, you’ll realize the full potential of the trimmer unit. Let me break it down to you.
Build Test
The build test began with a close inspection of the trimmer, how it feels to hold on to and analyzing the material used for producing it.
I’ll reiterate, the housing is quite durable but isn’t made with the priciest of materials. I dropped it from a certain height, there was no dent and the trimmer worked perfectly afterward.
But letting it fall from the top of your counter shouldn’t bring forth anything good. Also, I submerged it under water and took it inside the shower. The waterproofing was 100/100.
Instant Trim Test
Out of the package, I put the trimmer to good use on my arm hair. I went both with and without the guards and found a noticeable gap in outcome.
I performed trims on jungle-like pubes, stubble on nuts and sizable body hair. Manscaped passed all of these tests with above satisfactory performance.
Sustained Test
The final test is a lengthier one, takes up over a couple of months to complete. It incorporates assessing the trimmer’s performance at regular intervals, with and without maintenance.
The result suggests that it’s one of the highest rated body trimmers because of the sustaining quality. I’m sure it’s going to be a worthy investment for ones who can treat it with care.
Should You Buy the Manspot Trimmer?
I’m not recommending this device because it’s cheap or is bound to leave little dent in your wallet compared to other pricier trimmers.
I actually enjoyed my time using it and it has the potential to be named beside brands like Manscaped or Meridian.
If having every fancy feature isn’t your priority, you’re adept at maintaining grooming devices and want an all-rounder trimmer to serve all your body grooming needs, Manspot trimmer is something you should definitely consider buying.
The price point is ideal for ones going out to purchase their first manscaping device. The compromise is made on the housing material and features.
But in terms of performance, it’s very close to the top-tier brands I just mentioned. A powerful motor, sharp and safe blades, good grip, acceptable close trim – it all adds up to pose it as a viable candidate in the market.
How to Use the Manspot Trimmer
The mode of operation for the Manspot trimmer is very simple, intuitive and straightforward.
You’ll get a user-manual for in-depth learning. I’m mentioning the basics for your convenience.
- One Button to Power On/Off: The giant round button in the middle turns the device on and off with one press. There’s no LED guide light or travel lock, so less room for complication. (Photo: Close up of the power button)
- Charging: The USB cable provided in the package charges the trimmer. Keep the trimmer turned off, stick one end to the trimmer and other to any USB charging brick.Use the LED indicators to know where you are in terms of battery level. When only one LED is on, it’s better to power the trimmer up.
- Storing: Since the trimmer doesn’t come with any storage pouch, you can use the box to keep it safe. Otherwise, you can buy any pouch to use for safely storing or carrying.
How to Clean/Maintain the Manspot Trimmer?
There are three ways of cleaning the trimmer and an additional step for maintenance. Let’s get them sealed into our memories to make the trimmer last!
- Dry Clean: Using the brush provided by Manspot, you can clean the trimmer without getting it soaked. Simply undo the blade head and brush off hair particles – that would suffice! (Photo: using brush to clean trimmer blades)
- Wet Clean: For this, you’ll need to undo the blade head in the same way and hold it under running water. The trimmer MUST BE turned off during this.
Once done, mop it up using a cotton rag and let it dry for a couple of hours before next use.
- Mixed Method: You can unhinge the blade away from the trimmer and rinse it. For the trimmer’s crevice, use the brush to dust out stray hair particles. (Photo: Unhinged blade)
- Maintenance: Apart from cleaning, you’ll need to lubricate the blades after every cleaning session. Store in safe locations and charge it regularly. That should sum up your maintenance tasks.
What’s the Difference: Manspot vs Manscaped 3.0 Trimmer
This Manspot trimmer shares some uncanny resemblances with the Manscaped Lawn Mower 3.0. Be that from an aesthetic perspective, features or performance, let’s put them head to head with each other for a better assessment!
Feature/Quality | MANSPOT Groin Hair Trimmer for Men | Manscaped Lawn Mower 3.0 |
---|---|---|
Housing/Ergonomics | Oval, textured and accented | Oval and textured |
Blades | Sharp anti-cut ceramic blades | SkinSafe blades |
LED Guide Light | No | Yes |
Waterproof Rating | None | IPX4+IPX7 |
Travel Lock | No | No |
Charging Station | No | Yes |
Price | See On Amazon | See On Amazon |
There are a few more minor differences between these two trimmers that require elaboration. Let’s see what those are.
- Size: Between the two, the Lawn Mower 3.0 is the slightly larger one at 14.7 mm of height whereas the Manspot trimmer stands at 13.5 mm.
- Weight: Both of these trimmers weigh almost identically, only the Lawn Mower 3.0 weighs 0.01 ounces that the Manspot trimmer. No big issue there.
- Battery Life: Lawn Mower 3.0 has around 10-15 more performance in its battery compared against the Manspot trimmer. It’s alright, that’s bound to happen because of the price gap.
- Performance: These two devices are equipped with similarly powerful motors and ceramic blades that are built using almost the same-graded materials. In terms of comfort, I’d have to give the edge to Lawn Mower 3.0 as it’s more efficient, convenient and the aftermath is more comfortable for the skin.
- Waterproof: Since the Lawn Mower 3.0 comes with a waterproof rating, I’d be more relieved to take it inside the shower than I’d be with the Manspot.
But it doesn’t mean the Manspot trimmer doesn’t excel under running water. It’s only a matter of preference.
About Manspot
Not much information could be discovered on the Manspot brand. Based on research, I can tell you that it’s a Chinese brand expanding their reach in the US market.
They offer only a handful of grooming devices. So far trimmers and devices as such seem like their speciality.
Even if they offer other products, those are probably not under the Manspot banner, thus they cannot be linked.
For more information on Manspot, visit their website and see all the things they are offering the customers.

Will Manspot Replace My Existing Pubic Trimmer?
It’s a tough ask for me because not everyone shares the same perception on grooming devices as I do.
Personally, if I wanted to get started with my first pubic or body hair trimmer that can serve all the purposes, I’d definitely settle for Manspot.
It’s affordable, looks neat, feels great, performs better than I expected! And from what I’ve experienced, it’s built to last!
But if I look at it from a broader perspective, Manspot trimmer has some way to climb ahead to catch up with Manscaped or Meridian and I wouldn’t replace either of these with Manspot.
Nevertheless, Manspot trimmer has my blessings and I’d definitely encourage you to buy it if you don’t already own a pubic hair trimmer!
