Very first of the lot is the Silver PRO, the most affordable of the four yet there’s no major compromise made to the looks, feel or performance aside from a couple of things.

The prized possession from the group is the Diamond PRO and by the looks as well as the feel of it, you’ll know this one is a deluxe head shaver built with utmost care.

Pitbull Platinum Review
Skull Shaver Pitbull Platinum PRO is the top of the line in head shaver production for the brand and it’s the most feature-heavy device among the three premium pitbulls!
No matter how you see it, this shaver is one of the finest head shavers you’ll find in the market! There are so many positive aspects to this shaver that I’m dumbfounded on where to begin!
Starting off with the design, Platinum PRO looks somewhat similar to the Gold Pro and Silver PRO in sheer shape and size.

But when it comes to color, instead of going for a shiny black, Skull Shaver opted for a matte platinum finish this time, paying a tribute to the name of the shaver.
Even the blade accents this time round have carried out this platinum tone. Another variance from the two former shavers is that the shaver head connector is a shiny silver instead of black.
Due to the similarity in ergonomics, I’d say the grip levels are uncanny and there’s not much new to offer in the handle.
However, for the grip between fingers, Platinum does seem to have a slight edge over Gold and Silver in terms of comfort and firmness.

Motors are similarly powered, I felt no difference there. One major difference is in the blade system though, which Platinum shares with the Gold variant.
Skull Shaver calls this the Forte PRO 4 blades and it’s a little kinder on skin as well as generates smoother results by a miniscule margin.
Like all of the Skull Shavers, Platinum PRO too contains a four-blade system that floats and adapts to contours perfectly.
Also, the underlying hair chamber has always captured every bit of stray hair – be that a wet shave or dry – and kept things neat and clean after every shave.

The shaver head and blades come together for not only nick or tug free shaves, but also leaves behind zero trail of red patches even on sensitive scalp skins!

Between the three Skull Shaver Pitbulls in concern, my personal observations is that the Pitbull Gold PRO is ideally situated between the two others – in terms of cost and in terms of performance.
The best part about this shaver is that the blade system is the same one Platinum uses with a similar power output from the motor.
Pitbull Gold Housing
Differences between Forte PRO 4 and Carver PRO 4 are elaborated later on, but know that owning a Gold PRO should minimize your head shaving concerns for the longest time!
These blades grab on to the flat lying hair perfectly and trim off without letting you feel a thing! All you’ll sense is a comforting vibration and before you know it, your head will be reflecting lights in every direction.
Pitbull Gold Blades
When it comes to the housing design, the trademark Pitbull logo is up the front with the mention of GOLD right underneath it.
Majority of the housing is draped in black, especially the handle which is shiny and dark to please the aesthetic sense of the consumers.

Other than that, the head unit is a glossy silver that wraps around the four foil blades as well. Oval, pressure sensitive blades are surrounded with a dark gray holding system.

Even though the housing is reflective, it never compromised my grip even in the shower. However, I prefer to hold the shaver between my fingers for a firmer hold and precise shaves on the head.

Pitbull Silver Review
Pitbull Silver PRO is the most affordable shaver in the Skull Shaver premium series and it mimics almost the similar outcomes as the Platinum PRO, so that’s worth pondering over!
Skull Shaver generally doesn’t discriminate between their head shavers much and vows to provide consumer convenience with each of their shaver units.
Pitbull Silver Housing
If I place the Silver PRO and Gold PRO shavers side by side, you’ll find very little difference between the two shavers from the looks.
You’ll either need to check out the front of the shaver to locate the SILVER text beneath the Pitbull logo or have to have proper knowledge about the blade system to distinguish them from one another.
Pitbull Silver Blade Pressure
As I’ve already mentioned, the Silver PRO unit contains a separate blade system named Carver PRO 4.
While it looks the same, there’s a certain difference in tactile feelings. If you look closely, you’ll find that the four foil heads are more stern and less sensitive to pressure.
Otherwise, it’s similarly sharp as the Forte PRO 4 blade system, generates almost identical results but due to that lack of pressure sensitivity, contour adaptation shows a little bit lacking.

As per the floating part, it’s the same as Gold PRO and Platinum PRO, so there’s no complaining.
I must interject about one thing – the Pitbull Silver PRO can utilize the Forte PRO 4 blade system as well!
It means the blades are not only interchangeable, but also you have the flexibility to buy a Silver PRO with an additional Forte PRO 4 unit to get the same results as a Platinum PRO shaver!
Pitbull Silver Accessories
Where the Silver PRO lacks is in the advanced features department. It doesn’t have any LCD numeric indicator for the battery, but only three LED lights as battery levels.
Also, this battery unit might keep you begging as the runtime is somewhere around 25 minutes and not what Pitbull promotes.
However, 25 minutes is more than sufficient in my opinion to squeeze out 5 good and clean shaves out of 2 to 3 days of stubble growth.
Pitbull Silver LED Indicator
By my estimation, you’ll need to recharge the shaver once in two weeks and that’s something I can concede looking at the price tag.
Cleaning is much more the same as the Gold PRO, unhinge the blades, dust off the chamber, brush or rinse the blades and voila!
Due to the uncanny resemblance in housing design, grip levels are the exact same as Gold PRO, no risk of slipping whatsoever.
Pitbull Silver Blades Removed
Also, the waterproof rating in the Silver PRO is identical with Gold PRO and Platinum PRO – an IPX5 rating that renders shower shaves highly enjoyable.
Who might this shaver cater to precisely? I’ll explain more in the buyer’s guide section about this, but let me just give you a hint – it performs like the Gold PRO but at a much lower price.

Feature Comparison: Pitbull Platinum vs Gold vs Silver
With the major differences out of the way, let’s focus on the finer details that separate these three premium head shavers apart from one another!
Similar Design
No matter which way you look at it, all three of the Skull Shaver Pitbulls are almost identically designed when it comes to shape.
Even the Carver PRO 4 and Forte PRO 4 blade systems look very much alike so there’s no effortless way of identifying one from the other by the feel of them.
Only the Platinum PRO is housed in a different color than the Gold and Silver PRO shavers, so you’ll need sufficient light to nail that distinction.
Otherwise, you either have to check out the logo up front where the Skull Shaver Platinum, Gold and Silver texts are included in the logo.
Or another option is to check out the LCD indicators as Silver has only three LED lights, Gold doesn’t have the illuminated Pitbull text or power button highlight like the Platinum PRO.
Apart from color or these minor aspects, all there are designed in the same principle, following identical dimensions, just slight variance in grip level as Silver is a little less comforting to hold on to.
Weight Classes
I don’t think there’s much to discuss about the weight classes of the Skull Shaver Pitbull units as all three weigh between 6 to 8 oz, posing no significant difference in operation.
What we can talk about is the weight balance because there’s a little room for elaboration due to the subtle variation that can only be felt.
Platinum PRO is the most well-balanced head shaver out of the three and holding it between the fingers is yet to ache or fatigue me.
I wish I could say the same for the Silver PRO as it feels a little rigid to glide around and it probably has to do with the weight distribution across the blade system and housing.
No complaints about the Gold PRO though, it’s ideally balanced and feels comfortable to hold on to, whether you go for a palm grip, finger-tip hold or the scissor-grip.
All 3 are IPX5 Waterproof
In my waterproof test, all the Pitbull shavers have excelled with full marks! You should know that Pitbull Platinum, Gold and Silver units are IPX5 rated.
While it’s expected from the Gold and Platinum PRO shavers due to their price point, the Silver’s IPX5 rating actually caught me off-guard!
My submersion test, shower shave test and rinse cleaning tests have failed to break the shavers down and there is no sign of leakage in these solid units so far.
So it’s one less concern for you in terms of cleaning and wet shaving, because there are many contrasting head shavers in the market who claim to be waterproof but never make it leak-free to the other side.
Neck Flexibility
I don’t know if you’ve heard about this – there’s a lot of fuss about head shaver necks being flexible and allowing better contour adaptation.
At least this has been promoted by brands like Remington or FlexSeries shavers with their bendable and flexible shaver necks.
Although Skull Shaver Pitbulls do contain such a technique of adaptation, I’d say the neck isn’t the most flexible aspect of the shavers that’s allowing them to achieve great results.
I’d even go on to calling out all three of the Pitbull necks to be some of the most rigidly flexible necks out of all the head shavers since they don’t adapt more than 5 degrees in each direction.
The adaptation part is successfully followed through by the smart blade system that’s highly responsive to pressure and manages to wrap around every contour.
So in the neck flexibility test, it’s a tie between the Pitbull shavers but it had to be mentioned so that you’re not left with disappointment with a stiff neck.
Ease of Cleaning & Maintenance
Well, this is an interesting discussion and should enlighten you why the Platinum PRO is priced so high over most other head shavers.
Cleaning jobs for the Pitbull Gold and Silver are almost identical – for dry shaves, you’ll only need to unhinge the head, dust off the chamber and brush/rinse the blades.
A wet shave will require you to wash the entire blade system and the stray chamber because otherwise shaving lotion and stray hair residue altogether can jeopardize your shaver’s efficiency.
While the Platinum PRO can be cleaned in both of these ways, it comes with a Rinse Stand included in the package.
So no matter which mode you pick for shaving, all you need to do is to pour some water inside the stand, place the shaver in the holder, dip it in the water and turn it on for 10 seconds.
This shaver in particular has a built-in system of channeling out the residue in the chamber underneath the blades and providing you a completely clean shaver in the quickest possible time!
Maintenance is the same for all three Pitbull shavers – lubricate the blades and motor heads after each shave, turn it on for 10 seconds and put them away in moisture-free, safe storage.
Different Blade System
As I mentioned earlier, there’s little to differentiate between these two blades in hindsight. But when you zoom in with your eyes, you’ll find out certain variances that add up to the overall performance.
Carver PRO 4 is the older blade system utilized only by the Pitbull Silver whereas the Forte PRO 4 blades come attached with the Gold and Platinum units.
The latter blade system is more prone to contour adaptation due to the beveled edges on the inner rings of the foils.
It not only helps out in causing less irritation for sensitive skins, but also it is better at picking up flat lying hair with a higher efficiency.
Meaning, you’ll get your head shaving done in less time than you would with the Carver PRO 4 blades.
A good thing is, reiterating myself, the Silver PRO shaver can utilize the Forte PRO 4 blade system due to Skull Shaver’s interchangeable mechanism and it seems to be a gamechanger!
Traveling Efficiency
None of the Skull Shaver Pitbulls have a traveling case except for the Platinum PRO unit. A vibrant blue case comes with the package with the ability to hold everything inside for safe and effortless travel!
Unlike the Gold or Silver shavers, Pitbull Platinum is also endowed with a travel lock. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to activate the lock and it’s displayed in the LCD panel for convenience.
Also, Pitbull Platinum is better at grabbing the stray hair into the chamber as opposed to the Gold unit.
It means, you can shave inside your car, your hotel room or any place of your desire where a couple minutes should render your head as shiny as you could possibly hope for!
Battery Indicator
Are you someone who’d like to know exactly how much juice you’ve got left in your battery? Pitbull Platinum as well as Gold shavers show a numeric LCD counter depicting this precise info.
On the other hand, the Silver unit puts only three LED lights of 33% increments to grant a broader idea of remaining battery life.
While both Gold and Platinum units mimic the numeric display, from my experience the Platinum unit is more accurate with the reading.
Because I’ve found the Gold shaver to drop off significantly fast when under 50% charge whereas the Platinum’s decrease in battery life counter is much steadier and accurate.
Also, Platinum’s power button is also illuminated to guide you in the dark but I can’t say the same for Gold or Silver shavers due to their lack of it.
So overall, Platinum takes all the money in the battery indicator department, and considering the gap in price, I wouldn’t expect anything less!

It’s time for me to share my experience with the Skull Shaver Pitbull units – how they withstand my test, which aspects stood out over the others while the things I believe could be improved.
Shaving Quality
This is the most important question you should be asking while assessing not only head shavers, but any electric shaver in general.
Let me tell you, Skull Shavers are a beast when it comes to generating clean results that go as close to manual razors.
You might think I’m audacious to claim this, but it’s true! Out of the three head shavers, I’ve found out that the Platinum PRO is able to go closest overall, removing hair heads closest to the roots!
It has to do with the motor power because otherwise the Forte PRO 4 blade system is shared with the Gold PRO shaver.
But despite this fact, Gold PRO falls a little bit behind in the closeness department. Mind you, closeness implies how clean the scalp gets with each glide.
If you add one or two more passes, Gold PRO iterates the same outcome as the Platinum PRO, so it ends up in a matter of efficiency.
Silver PRO’s Carver PRO 4 blades do produce great results, but it’s ranked last due to its flat hair picking.
Since this blade system isn’t beveled like the other two, you may need to spend some additional time grinding on your scalp to reach the level of closeness like the Gold or Platinum PRO.
Which Pitbull is the Most Comfortable?
In terms of comfort, Pitbull Platinum PRO and Gold PRO offer soothing experiences to such a degree that are very difficult to tell apart.
But if I merge that with the aspect of motor power, Platinum PRO has the edge since it’s less likely to tug or pull (not that any of the Pitbulls do that).
You have to make sure that you have hair growth of no more than 3 days. If that condition is met with, the Forte PRO 4 blades should glide over your scalp like a knife through butter.
Pitbull Silver PRO is still comfortable but it would be tricky to get things right if you have coarse or textured hair type.

Gap in Shaving Time
You must think me to be lifeless for saying this out loud, but I did put a stopwatch to measure how long each of the Pitbull shavers take to clean out a 3 day stubble.
As my brother is a balding enthusiast, he was kind enough to lend me his time and effort while I took my data for my dear readers.
We started off with the Silver PRO and with this skill of a couple years into this mode of operation, he cleaned out every nook and cranny in a little under 5 minutes.
The Gold PRO turned out to be quite faster in its performance, around 3 and a half minutes is all it took for a shiny, bald outcome.
In the following week, again with a 3 day stubble, we put the Platinum PRO up for a test and my gosh, it can shave!
Although we never managed to clock a time under 90 seconds as Skull Shaver claims to be, 2 minutes and 9 seconds is certainly a feat for automatic head shaving!
It’s worth noting that all of these shavings were done in dry conditions with little shaving lotion applied for softening the strands and the clock started counting once the blades had touched the scalp.
Wet Shave Ready!
Wet shaving capabilities are always a priority when it comes to head shaving because of its comfort and dampening of hair for a smoother result.
I’d say all three of these shavers proved to be highly capable of handling the wets and navigating through shaving foam, gel or lotion.
But the scores widen between the Platinum PRO with the other two when it comes to cleaning. As I mentioned, you can easily dock the Platinum shaver and clean it out effortlessly.
For the Gold and Silver units, you might have to pour the sink with water to rinse off the foam every now and then.
However, Forte PRO 4 blades seem a little more agile in wet conditions since the flatter blade system picks up less foam residue to demand a quick rinse.
So for ones who prefer to shave their heads using gel, foam or lotions, it’d be better to equip your Silver PRO with the Forte PRO system to increase efficiency and reduce hassle.
And as the waterproof quality is tested out, all three are identically capable of this shaving mode.
Closeness is much more the same in dry and wet, so it’s in the end a matter of preference. But I must admit that wet shaves feel a tad bit more comfortable on skin than dry, especially if you have sensitive scalp!
Supreme Durability
From the packaging, Platinum PRO contains the most solid box that’s highly unlikely to take any damage to the shaver.
Gold PRO comes in a solid frame of crevices to place the shaver and its attachments. Silver PRO mimics a similar design but the box feels a little more fragile due to the material.
Now in terms of the housing durability, all three are firmly built shavers that can withstand almost monstrous torture in anyone’s hands.
Not that I’m encouraging that, but accidental falls don’t seem to put a halt to their relentless operations and the premium plastic housings are made to last indeed!
In my opinion, the Platinum PRO’s motor unit and other electronics have been developed with slightly higher end machineries than Gold or Silver PRO.
The reason behind claiming this is the warranty period – Platinum PRO is covered by a 2 year limited warranty from Skull Shaver while the other two stretch this to a 1 year period.
Thus, it can be deduced that Skull Shaver indeed trusts Platinum PRO to last longer than Gold or Silver PRO, but this doesn’t mean that the latter two are any less durable!
How I Tested the Skull Shaver Pitbulls
Well, I must admit that testing out the Skull Shaver Pitbulls have been slightly easier than most other head shavers due to their minimal approach with the accessories.
Each of these shavers come with a charger, brush, lubricant with an additional case & cleaning station for the Platinum PRO.
Initially I closely observed these shavers, seeing how the blade system responds to pressure, how powerful the motors feel, how much they vibrate while turned on etc etc.
Then, I borrowed my brother’s bald head to run my tests over the span of two weeks (since I had to wait each time for a 3 day stubble and tested out on a 5 day stubble for tug testing).
Finally, I let my barber friend use the three Pitbulls on his clients for a couple of days and took his insight into consideration.
When all of the data was finally compiled together, I sat down with my laptop to compose this article solely to satisfy the consumers wishing to learn more in-depth about Skull Shavers.
Buyer’s Guide for Skull Shaver Pitbulls

Overall, Pitbull Gold PRO is the most balanced Skull Shaver unit as it feels comfortable like the Platinum PRO, blades are identical with the top dog and even has numeric LCD indicators!
If you’re not traveling frequently or don’t mind the absence of travel locks, you can save extra bucks settling for this one instead of going for the Platinum PRO!

A: Yes, Skull Shavers do collect hair underneath the blade system in a stray hair chamber. Platinum PRO is the best one at this and for all three,you can simply undo the blades after each shave and dunk the stray hair. It’s great for shaving on-the-go without drenching yourself with stray hair and Skull Shavers indeed outperform their competition in this regard!

As you can see, the Platinum PRO has scored the highest among the three Skull Shaver Pitbulls after reviewing them with significant dissections.
Even the score reduction due to the high price keeps a day and night difference between Platinum PRO and Gold PRO scores.
However, let me surprise you! Because out of the lot, I’d prefer the Gold PRO over the rest of the two due to personal preferences!
Gold PRO shares the same blade system as Platinum PRO, has a decent battery life, grip levels are good and LCD battery level display is a lifesaver in every aspect.
